Sixt Greece Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012

General Rental Information
The renter and the driver must have a valid Greek, European (for E.U. countries) or International (for countries that don't belong to the E.U.) driving license held for at least one year.
Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up!

Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates
Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of EUR 10.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days.

No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

Age Restrictions
In Greece, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver's licence:
21 years old/1 year for vehicles in groups MCMR, EDMR, CCMR and CDMR
25 years old/3 years for vehicles in groups CDAR, CWMR, IDMR, SWMR, SDMR, SDAR, PDMR, PDAR, SVMR, CFMN, FDMR, LWAR, FFMR, FVMR and ITMR.
A Young Driver Surcharge of EUR 24.60 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 23.20) per day applies for drivers under 23 years.

Conditions of Payment
Flexi Tariff
We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.
We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).
Third party credit cards are not accepted.
Cash Payment is only accepted for car groups MCMR, EDMR, CCMR, CDMR and CDAR.
Vehicles from the groups IDMR, SDMR, SDAR, CWMR, SVMR, CFMN, ITMR, FVMR, PDMR, PDAR, FFMR, XDMR can only be hired with a credit card accepted by Sixt.
To hire one of the following vehicles, customers must present two credit cards: PDMR, PDAR, XDMR.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.

Prepaid Tariff
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card, Diners Club. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).
The renter must be the owner of the indicated creditcard. Theauthorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection ofthe vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
By booking of a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the startof rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of rental as well as all additional extra fees.
The rental charge (plus any other charges agreed such as, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus value added tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.

Generally
If paying by cash, the customer must leave a deposit as following:
MCMR, EDMR, CCMR EUR 450.00
all other cargroups EUR 650.00.
The total rental amount must be prepaid and CDW insurance has to be taken.
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

General Insurance Conditions
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of EUR 750,000.- for personal injuries and EUR 750,000.- for material damages.
Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All insurance cover as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.
If CDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If CDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts:
EUR 468.- MCMR, EDMR, CCMR, EUR 677.- CDMR, CDAR, CWMR, SWMR, IDMR, SDMR, SDAR, SVMR, CFMN, ITMR, EUR 1.230.- PDMR, PDAR, XTAR, FDMR, XDMR, FVMR.

Top Cover CDW
If CDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Top Cover CDW to reduce/eliminate the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
If Top Cover CDW is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 0.-.
Under-carriage, car cabin mirror, windscreen, window and tyre damages are excluded from CDW or Top Cover CDW insurance.

Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.
If TP is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
If TP is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 0.-

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
By taking out personal accident insurance the insurance coverage can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.
By taking out PAI the limit of liability is:
EUR 17,610.- for invalidity of the driver, EUR 8,805.- for invalidity of each passenger,
EUR 17,610.- for decease of the driver, EUR 8,805.- for decease of each passenger,
EUR881.- for medical costs.
The maximum cover per accident is EUR 44,020.-.

Delivery & Collection
During Opening Hours
For Delivery/Collection Service to/from hotels within city limits a charge of EUR 17.22 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 16.24) applies. Outside city limits and up to 80km from the nearest sixt station EUR 30.70 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 29.00) will be charged.
For Delivery/Collection Service to/from hotels at South Corfu (Argirades, Lefkimi, Kavos, Ag. Georgios, Ipsos, etc.) please contact the local rental station.

Out of Opening Hours
For Delivery/Collection Service a charge of EUR 24.60 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini,
Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 23.20) applies.

Out Of Hours
An Out Of Hours surcharge of EUR 24.60 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 23.20) occurs for bookings out of opening hours.

One-Way Rentals
National
Please contact your Sixt local rental station or our hotline.
For One-Way-Rentals within Sixt locations in Greece a charge of 0 up to EUR 246.00 applies.
For rentals over 5 days the One Way Charge will be Free Of Charge for the folowing destinations ONLY
(Athens - Kinetta - Thessaloniki - Chalkidiki - Kavala - Ioannina - Alexandroupolis - Patra - Eretria - Vartholomio - Kalamata and Vice Versa)
For rentals over 5 days the One Way Charge will be Free Of Charge for the folowing destinations in Crete ONLY
(Heraklion - Chania - Rethymnon - Ag. Nikolaos and Vice Versa).
One-way-Rentals between the Greek islands are not allowed (Corfu, Myconos, Santorini, Cos, Rhodes, Zakynthos, Chios, Samos, Lesvos, Paros, Naxos,Lefkada, Karpathos, Skiathos, Kefalonia, Thassos.)
For ferrying the car an advanced written authorization from Sixt Greece is required.
In case of ferrying the car between Greek islands the renter has to return the car to the pick-up station, otherwise all transportation costs will be charged to the renter.

International
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are not allowed.

Premium Location Fee
A Premium location fee of 6% on the non-reduced basis rental rate and the insurances occurs for rentals at airport and train stations (at Athens International Airport Spata the Service Fee is 13%).

Additional Driver

Refuelling Charge
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise an additional service charge of EUR 12.30 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos: EUR 11.60) will be applied in addition to the petrol shortage.

Other Fees and Taxes
Vehicle Cleaning
In case the car require a special cleaning procedure (i.e. animal hair, sand etc) after returning, a charge of EUR 98.40 (Karpathos, Kos, Lesvos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Chios, Tinos:: EUR 92.80) will apply.

Administration Fee for Fine
The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occuring during the rental.

All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs).
For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
